Please know that we have planned diligently to be prepared for the new season with updated scheduling and sanitation practices. We will stagger start times for classes to reduce traffic in the hallways and we will reduce/limit the amount of dancers allowed in each class. A 15 minute “cleaning and transitioning time” is blocked between each class. We will offer a multitude of classes throughout the day/evening to allow everyone a chance to secure a class time that works for their family.
Parents and siblings of dancers will be encouraged not to utilize the lobby and dancers will be greeted at the entrance to the studio by their instructor. This will cut down on the amount of people in the common areas of the studio. Instructors will escort dancers to the exit and at the end of each class, as well. Hand sanitizer will be utilized upon entry/exit of the studio.
Blocked spaces on the dance floor for each dancer will allow social distancing in during each class. Each student will also have a designated spot to leave their dance bag/personal items, like water bottles, separated from others. Hand washing/hand sanitizers will be implemented before class, and afterwards. We will sanitize each class room after each use.
Dancers should have their own equipment, shoes, and not plan to “share” such items with others. When possible, coming dressed for dance will cut down on those dancers using the bathrooms to change. Students should have a mask to be worn when social distancing is not possible, for example-when using the hallways to go to the restroom.
While this may seem like a lot of changes, we believe these policies will lend to safety and the chance for dancers to have an in-studio experience. However, if your dancer prefers to stay home and continue their dance education-you may! We will offer virtual opportunities to be utilized by those wish to, or in the event a dancer is sick and cannot attend their class.
We will still have the ZOOM - virtual dance option - available for families who are not ready to come into the studio environment at this time.
All of these policies will be followed as we continue monitoring the COVID-19 situation. Should these numbers change, and the government change their executive orders, we, too, will evolve our plans and move forward at that point accordingly. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
